Personalised continence support for everyday comfort and independence
If you live in Westcourt or the surrounding Cairns suburbs and need support with bladder or bowel health, our team at A1 Care Group is ready to help. We provide professional continence assessments, personalised care plans, and practical support so you can stay comfortable, confident and independent at home and in your community.
Our nurses understand how continence issues can affect daily life. We work with you, your family and your support team to give you practical guidance that’s easy to follow and fits your lifestyle.
A continence assessment is a detailed nursing assessment that looks at your bladder and bowel health. It helps identify what support you need and the best ways to manage symptoms.
Your assessment may includes:
A full review of your continence challenges
A personalised continence assessment form and care plan
Recommendations for continence products such as pads and toileting aids
Bladder and bowel management strategies
Advice on hydration, diet, mobility and routines
Support for issues like urinary incontinence, bowel incontinence, constipation, urgency or leakage
Guidance for carers and support workers
A clear continence report suitable for NDIS planning
Everything is explained in simple, practical terms so you know exactly what to expect.
How the Assessment Works
Your appointment is carried out by a qualified continence nurse. You can choose an in-home visit in Westcourt or a telehealth session if that suits you better.
During your appointment, we:
Talk through your continence history and daily routines
Look at what products you currently use
Check for physical, environmental or behavioural factors affecting continence
Identify what changes may help your comfort and independence
Create a clear, personalised care plan
Provide advice on safe toileting and hygiene
Offer product recommendations that fit your needs
You’ll receive a detailed continence report that can support your NDIS funding, including consumables, assistive equipment and nursing supports.
