Practical continence support for comfort, confidence and independence
If you live in Woree or the surrounding Cairns region and need support with bladder or bowel health, we’re here to help. At A1 Care Group, we provide professional continence assessments, personalised care plans and practical advice to make daily life more comfortable and manageable.
Our team includes qualified continence nurses and support specialists who understand the challenges involved. We work with you gently and respectfully, focusing on simple, effective strategies that support your independence.
A continence assessment is a clinical nursing assessment that looks at your bladder and bowel health. It helps identify what’s causing difficulties, what supports you need, and the best ways to improve your comfort and continence management.
Your assessment may include:
A full review of your continence history
A personalised continence assessment form and care plan
A professional continence report
Recommendations for continence pads, aids and toileting products
Bladder and bowel management strategies
Guidance for carers and support workers
Support for issues like urinary incontinence, bowel incontinence, constipation or accidents
Advice on routine, hydration, mobility and toileting technique
Your care plan is written in plain language and designed to be realistic and easy to follow.
How the Assessment Works
Your continence assessment is completed by an experienced continence nurse. You can choose an in-home appointment in Woree or a telehealth session if that suits you better.
During your appointment, we:
Talk about your continence symptoms and daily routines
Review the products you currently use
Look at physical, environmental or behavioural factors affecting continence
Offer practical advice on toileting, positioning and hygiene
Recommend products suited to your needs and budget
Prepare a personalised continence care plan
Provide an NDIS-ready continence report
We take the time to understand your needs and support you in a way that feels comfortable and respectful.
