A typical continence assessment takes between 60 and 90 minutes. However, the exact duration may vary depending on the complexity of your needs and whether additional discussion or education is required during the session.
No referral is required to access a continence assessment through A1 Care Group. You can contact us directly to book. However, if you are an NDIS participant, you will need to have relevant funding in your NDIS plan to cover the cost of the assessment.
Medicare does not directly cover the cost of a continence assessment. However, NDIS participants may fund their assessment through their plan. Furthermore, those with a GP Management Plan (GPMP) may be able to access allied health services under a Medicare-funded team care arrangement, depending on individual circumstances.

Yes. A1 Care Group provides continence assessments for children as well as adults. Our nurses are experienced in paediatric continence care and can assist with toilet training, bedwetting, and daytime continence issues in children of all ages.
It is helpful to bring any relevant medical documents, a list of current medications, and a completed bladder or bowel diary if possible. Additionally, if you are an NDIS participant, having a copy of your NDIS plan on hand can assist in confirming your funding categories.
